“It was unfortunate. That was essentially an exchange with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was filled with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the gesture was entirely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I just put up the wrong finger,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently performed. This is sincere. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. However, it got corrected pretty quick.”

- Carolina Panthers proprietor Tepper was penalized $300K for throwing a drink at spectators in early 2024.
